Since the English conquered and copulated with half the known world, I'm wondering how accurate the term "anglo-saxon" actually is?
If we were to take a year (say 1900, before the invention of cheap mass transport), what would the average Englishmans bloodline look like?
Should "racial purists" describe themselves as Anglo-Saxon-Celtic-Frankish-Gallic-whatever?
From a genetic standpoint not very. A comparison of the English and Irish and Scots shows that they are genetically pretty similar. Not only is there very little German or even Roman input, there is very little Celtic. Apparently these large scale movements of peoples is not really very accurate. An army came over, not a whole people.
