Book recommendations on European wars in the 1700's.

I'm looking for a general overview on the wars in 18th century Europe. For example, the Austrian/ Spanish wars of succession, Seven Years war, Napoleonic Wars, or any others you can think of. Thanks in advance!

A good starter text is The Age of Battles by Russell Weigley. It looks at the development of gunpowder infantry in the 17th and 18th centuries, and most particularly how armies tried (and usually failed) to make battles decisive. It's a bit dated at this point, but it's a foundation text on the study of warfare in the period.

I have just the book for you!

The Rise of Modern Warfare: 1618-1815 by H.W. Koch.

Also check out The wars of Louis XIV, 1664-1714 by John Lynn, may be some use.
