I am a huge fan of the AskHistorians podcast, but I watch them significantly faster then they are released. Does anyone know of any historical podcasts of the same caliber and depth? I'll watch one on pretty much any topic as long as it is good quality and, most importantly, accurate.
If you are interested in Byzantine history, I would reccomend Robin Pierson's [The History of Byzantium] (http://thehistoryofbyzantium.com/about/) podcast. Overall it's a very good introduction to Byzantine history. Pierson uses mostly current scholarship and approaches Byzantine historical sources with a critical eye, so while it's not perfect, it's much better than most ancient history podcasts. Definitely give it a listen!
History Extra, the BBC History Magazine's podcast.
I would definitely check out Central European University's podcast "Past Perfect." Its mainly medieval themed, but they occasionally have some early modern stuff too. The format is usually the host interviewing a professor on whatever their research is.

“Witness” on the BBC World Service is full of really interesting ~10 minute chunks of history focusing both on clips of reportage from the time and of follow-up interviews with people who were there at the time.
In our Time, the host Melvyn Bragg leads a panel of experts (professors most of the time) and discusses topics on history, science, philosophy, etc.
Melvyn Bragg has a talent for keeping the conversation on point and the subjects are well chosen. Make sure you check out the archive (goes back to 2002 so plenty to listen to).
