Since nobody has answered this yet, I'll respond. In my Roman history survey that I took in undergrad, I seem to remember my professor saying that the only major city in Gaul was the Greek colony of Massilia. Yes, the Gallic tribes had hill forts like Alesia, but they weren't cities so much as fortified centers that were occasionally inhabited. Perhaps there's an expert in iron age archaeology around here that would know better.
