It would've been considered treason I'm sure, but did any young officer every step "out of line" to help the men and women during the genocide?
Examples are Karl Plaggue and Wilm Hosenfeld. However, these officers are seasoned and older.
I'm specifically looking for 2nd/1st lieutenants. Is there cases of any? What was their motives? What impact did they cause?
"I'm specifically looking for lieutenants. Young, well groomed officers."
This is quite....specific.
