People who went to primary school in eastern asia, in what depth were your history lessons?

Considering how many thousands of years of rich history eastern asia had, how in depth do students learn this history? How far back do your history lessons go? And how much western history is taught considering how many more years of recorded eastern history there is?

In public South Korean primary schools only the fifth grade, or 11-year-olds, have an education in history. The discipline itself is classified as part of the Social Studies curricula and only Korean history is taught. Overall the lessons are elementary overviews.

Are you interested in middle school as well? If you were to ask about public history education in middle school (ages 13 ~ 15) you might get a fuller answer from me, because I have a Korean middle school history textbook with me.
