I'm looking for a comprehensive, relatively even-handed and modern (or at least not terribly outdated) account of each conflict if anyone can recommend a few books.
I can give you two on the Crimean War, the first that I remember reading in college and finding quite useful. The second I picked up a little while ago and recently finished. Both are fairly balanced and take into account the political situation leading to the war as well as the actual conflict.
