There is no confirmed evidence of pre-Columbian Sino-American contact. Gavin Menzies' book 1421 popularized the idea that Chinese sailors reached the Americas before Columbus, but the evidence it presents does not hold up under scrutiny and Menzies' work is not well regarded by historians.
