The only real candidate I know of is this Australian documentary series. It follows the battleship from the Age of Sail to the Gulf War, so it should have segments that interest you. It's got some nice stock footage, reputable enough talking heads, and I don't recall it saying anything too outrageous.

However, if you're willing to slog through 1,000+ pages, I would very highly recommend Robert Massie's Dreadnought. Details the life of Victoria and her offspring, down to the eccentric and unique character of Wilhelm II, and his grand dream of building a German Navy to rule the high seas. Whole chapters are devoted to the design and building phases of HMS Dreadnought herself and the ensuing quickening of the Anglo-German naval arms race.

His follow-up, Castles of Steel, covers most of World War I's naval warfare, primarily between Germany and the United Kingdom, along with some naval battles at Gallipoli for some fun.
