A secondary, barely related question: Were some of the motivations in regards to the opening of Death Camps to the public related to monetary gain?
The claim was made to me by someone doing Graduate research in Germany that there exists private correspondence indicating that both of these things were true but they were unwilling to provide me with so much as a name so I could look any further. Any information is of interest to me.

For your second question, monetary gain is one reason for Jewish Discrimination. When they were pushed into Ghettos their flats, businesses, goods, money were Aryanized, which means they were taken into Nazi possession and redistributed to party members and other regime favorites.
This was for example extremly important in Vienna. There was a large housing shortage, and the Nazis supplied hundred thousand of "new" living places (to ethnic Germans) by driving Jews out.
