However, I would like to point out that most of our knowledge of norse mythology was written down after a millennium of mixing with Roman mythology and, to a lesser extent, Christianity. It is an open question how much the norse religion was originally related to the PIE beliefs and how much was introduced or changed with the Romans.

However, the parallels are definitely there and I'm sure there is some interesting research out there.
