Some examples include Poppy sap (opium > morphine) willow bark (aspirin,) foxglove (digoxin > digitalis,) and cinchona bark (quinine >anti-malarials.) Although the delivery system (pills, infusions) have varied over time, the active ingredients remain essentially the same.
