Are there any Indigenous Australian references to Snow?

by holyshitisthatallama

This is mainly due to the recent weather in Southern Queensland.

Do you mean specifically reference to snow in Queensland? There are many places in Australia with generous winter snowfall, I.e. Victorian and NSW alps

I'm short on time, but in NSW, there was/is a train station called Kunama, apparently an Aboriginal word meaning "Snow", according to this at least. Also found references to Kunama meaning snow (or 'white snow') here and here and here too.

Also here on Pg14, during True Spring, or 'Poomeit', it is stayed that 'melting snow fills the billabongs', and as that is the Wurundjeri calendar, then the Wurundjeri had records of (melting) snow.

This is probably a better question for /r/linguistics; I think there are some Australian scholars there.
