Back during the days of slavery, what would have been the ideal location a slave or discriminated against human would want to be in order to be the safest?
If we're talking about an escaped American slave, I think the safest place to go would be Britain, particularly after the passage of the Fugitive Slave Act. A huge number of black abolitionists during the pre-Civil War era spent some time in Britain.
