Why is doesn't the Flag of the United Kingdom include the colours of Wales?

The UK flag is a combination of the flags of 3 countries: Scotland, England, Ireland. But why doesn't it include Wales?

Thanks!

Both /u/LeftBehind83 and /u/alexistheman answered this question about two weeks ago. The short answer is that Wales was governed as a principality integral to the Kingdom of England in the sixteenth century and as a result was already represented by the Flag of St. George.
