Ernest Shackletons journal tells an overall quite upbeat tale of what befell the Endurance expedition. Have independant recountings from his crew corroborated or other sources modified his version of events?

Tom Crean gives a fascinating alternate view as he was with Shackleton and Scott. He was lost to history in many ways as he was Irish and Ireland became indepedant. His diary corroborates a huge amount if what Shackleton did as he was with him. https://www.collinspress.ie/tom-crean-an-illustrated-life.html#/product/41

Cannot find an original but Shackleton/Crean were the subjects of a 3 day debate on defining success in college this year.
