In Shigeru Mizuk's Showa 1926-1939: A History of Japan, it is mentioned that American banking institutions financed Japan's invasion of Manchuria. Is this true and which institutions were involved if so? My google foo is failing me.
Presumably this would mean any US financial institution that had any portion of its assets in the form of Japanese government loans. That's an extremely misleading portrayal of the invasion..
