Most Germans that were wounded on D-Day were taken prisoner and survived, or were treated by their own forces. There unfortunately were accounts on D-Day of unwounded Germans being shot trying to surrender. It isn't out of the question that an instance of a wounded German soldier being shot by a vengeful American occurred. It was rare, but it could have happened.
