In many ways the contemporary high end fashion like the Lounge suit, Tailcoat, Morning Suit and Smoking jacket all find their origins in the 19th century. But when looking at the start of the century we see a very big difference in styles. Clothes vary more in colour, are often tighter around the body and give a merrier impression.

Could anyone tell me what brought about this relatively sudden change in style?
