The best sub on Reddit for pursuing genealogical questions is /r/Genealogy. When you ask them for advice, see if you can make your question as specific as possible -- that is, give as much information as you can about the specific people you're trying to research, without including info on living people. If you're starting with living people, you can omit names, but give approximate dates of birth/marriage/death, where they lived -- anything you know. That way the sub can also point you to resources (usually free) that may be useful.

Where are you looking right now? Google, while awesome in general, is not great at genealogy :P

Ancestry.com isn't free, but it makes genealogy very easy. A quick search for your family name there resulted in hundreds of hits. I believe it has a free trial if you'd like immediate information, but aren't planning to pursue this as a hobby.

LDS sites can also be very helpful, as can any genealogy library (check your local library to see if they have a section). Your library might also have a software genealogy subscription you can use. You can also contact family members and ask for family bible information.
