I'm a university history student with a strong interest in Napoleonic history. I'm also part Finnish, and so naturally this kind of drew me to Finland's chapter of the wars. Upon doing some research I found that they were in a war between Russia and Sweden (whom they were still a part of until the war's end) and I thought this would have quite a lot of information, but my only decent resource seemed to be Wikipedia and another website called Napoleon-Series, which is sourced. But where can one find even more information? If not on the web, is there anyone on this sub who could share some facts and knowledge about the war?
The largest problem for you will be that of language. English language history tends to focus on the campaigns of Napoleon, political, social, economic, and general French military history. A lot of these minor wars that are a part of the larger Napoleonic context are often mentioned but never given the full detail they deserve. I would love to have a book about the Gunboat War (which you can see on the wiki page is made up of Danish and British articles but not a full English language treatment).
It may seem that the Napoleonic era is very well covered but in reality it's only just barely covered. Even now, just within the past year I saw the first full treatment of the Polish in Napoleon's army.
