Did the Bosheviks play a role in the Armenian Genocide?

It seems unlikely that they did, the armenian genocide took place in 1915, the bolsheviks came to power in 1917.

Also, the genocide was in part motivated by Ottoman fears of the armenians working as a fifth column during the war with Tsarist Russia.

Since the Bolsheviks had no control over Tsarist Russia, and since they were on the side supposedly supporting the Armenians I would find their involvement very unlikely. They did turn out to be rather friendly toward Ottoman turkish interests but this was long after the murders took place.
