Interestingly there are a number of coins that are believed to have his father's bust on them. Hamilcar was the governor of Spain after all. From this one you might guess he looked Italian or Greek, with wavy hair and an aquiline nose. And that is consistent for what we see on many Carthaginian coins. So even if the coin above doesn't depict Hamilcar per se, it's likely that the Barcas looked similar to other Carthaginians... which is to say apparently pretty similar to modern Tunisians.

And that's not too surprising. The Carthaginians were originally from the area around modern Lebanon. But marriage to foreigners was actually pretty common. So there is a good possibility that Hannibal had some Numantine, Greek, Italian, Celtic, and Subsaharan African ancestry.

He probably looked similar to modern-day Tunisians or Sicilians. Carthage was a mercantile empire, with permanent settlements spanning from modern-day Lebanon, to France -- likewise, the varied reflections are an accurate representation of his possible phenotype. I've read that his father was originally from Tyre, which would indicate Phoenician heritage. A lot of activists for both black and white nationalist groups will argue that he was one or the other -- the truth being, he was neither. If you examine his supposed bust found in Capua (I believe?) not the texture of his hair & beard, which is very distinguishable from the way Roman/ Grecian features were portrayed.
