I'm in the midst of writing an article about the problems of "myth" as a concept in First World War studies, and it's remarkable how accommodating the publication record has been on this. There's nothing like finding two books published at roughly the same time that each make earnest arguments against "the Myth of the War" while meaning exactly opposite things by that.
