Generally speakin academics are rather optimistic about this because during the congress of Vienna(congress after the Napoleonic wars to create a peaceful Europe) several states wnated to patition France, but after efforts of England(Wellington), Talleyrand(France) and Metternich(Austria) France was allowed to return to the borders of before the revolution. This not only shows the that France was rather well treated but another sign of this is that Franche effectivly took part in the congress. The great powers established this settlement in order to create a certain balance of power. This balance of power resulted in a quite peaceful period in Europe(until German and Italian unification) in which conflicts were resolved in similar congresses. This is very different with the treatment of Germany after WO1 in which no such balance of power was established, and Germany was just humiliated. So in general France was not punished that much and it took an active part in power politics directly afyerwards(which was even encouraged at the congress of Vienna). Hope this answers your question.
