Can someone date this pottery I found in Crete?

by kangaroosauce

I was swimming at a beach in Ammoudara, near Heraklion, Crete and often scan the ground and shift through the rocks. I found this shard which seems to be made out of a ceramic type material. I was wondering if its recognizable from any period or just some recent garbage. If its not that simple, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can take it to get looked at. Thanks!

It doesn't look like any Ancient Greek pottery that I've ever seen. Can you see any paint or marks on it?

An archaeological museum is your best bet.

Just looks like part of a drainage or sewage pipe to me. Also, if it was ancient Minoan/Greek and found on the beach the corners would be much more rounded by water erosion than that.

If you find stuff, it's best to take it to the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, they are better at this stuff than random people on the internet (also because it's difficult to judge artefacts from pictures alone).

It does look like a modern concrete drainage pipe to me.
