Not an answer to your question, but one thing Franco did do was to force several clubs to change their names. Many Spanish clubs had English elements in their full names; Franco made them alter them, usually to their Spanish equivalents. Some examples:

• Athletic Bilbao became Atlético Bilbao
• Foot-Ball Club Barcelona became Club de Fútbol Barcelona
• Sporting Gijon became Deportivo Gijon

Mussolini did something very similar in Italy.
