I found an undated globe (made by George F. Cram of Indianapolis) in one of the classrooms where I work and it has me confused. On it are a few defunct or renamed nations:
Ceylon
Aden And Protectorate
Tanganyika
United Arab Republic
Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland
Bechuanaland
Upper Volta
USSR
Dahomey
British Guiana
Yugoslavia
And a handful of others. However, Germany and Korea are both shown as singular nations. DPRK and the GDR are both missing.
Is there a period in time when this could have been possible, or is this a case of the GDR and DPRK not being recognized for whatever reason?

Interesting as the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland existed from 1953-1963. Both the DPRK & GDR would have been established at this time. Tanganyika didn't get independence until 1961. I think maybe you're right, they gave up on splitting Germany and Korea on your globe for some reason?
"United Arab Republic" and "Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland" indicate it's from 1958-63. Germany and Korea would indeed have been divided, but presumably the cartographer considered them still national polities or was unwilling to recognise the "other" state.
