Inherited his jacket but I dont know much about his time in the service. Any information would be great!

The gold fabric badge above the right pocket is the ruptured duck indicating that your grandfathered qualified for an honorable discharge. The ribbon with three bronze stars indicates that your grandfather was involved in three battle campaigns.
