Picture linked below is dated Aug 28 1944 and was taken in Glasgow Scotland at Renfield Studios (probably). Found in my in-laws basement. They have recently passed on and we are trying to figure out anything we can about this picture so as to place the individual and eventually identify him.
Perhaps this is a uniform or maybe a particular Tartan? Hard with a black and white photo; but any info at all is appreciated.

This is almost certainly not a military uniform, for a large number of reasons I can list, if you're interested. It's also not being worn correctly for a formal Scottish dress, so is most likely a costume for a party, theatrical performance, or just posed for this photo.
