Revival of Aristotelian Ideas

by DiabolicalGinger

In a class I had today, I took interest in a very short discussion we had about the revival of Aristotelian thought in Medieval Europe. Does anyone here have any good suggestions of books or articles discussing why Aristotle's ideas of physics and school of thought were revived, or how they influenced the scholars of the time?

Edit: Added "physics" to better distinguish the topic.

Other than a few glosses like Richard Southern's The Making of the Middle Ages, no one has (dared) produce a synthesis of such a vast topic. I would probably start with Southern to get a flavour.

Otherwise, you'll have to be specific about what area of Aristotelian influence interests you: philosophy, theology, various sciences.
