While not directly the answer, I will address something that may be why the others are getting downvoted. There is no such thing as "more advanced" in respect to civilizations. The idea that Europeans are "more advanced" is Eurocentric and faulty since it presumes that one thing is better than the other. This post from our FAQ on the exact same subject does very well about explaining the reason why the two groups shouldn't be looked at from a linear technological perspective but independently.
