I checked the reading list, and all of the books there appeared to be fictitious novels. I would like the book to be at least 300 pages long. An account of a soldier or a nurse would be fine as well.
Hiya you should check out a guy called "Victor Klemperer" who is famous for living through the German Empire, Weimar Republic, both World Wars and Cold War Germany and documenting what took place.

Alternatively you can check out Richard Evans',"Third Reich Trilogy" (specifically book 3; The Third Reich At War) because include anecdotes from real people.
