my grandfather came back with a few toes less....he always said he wore as much clothes as he could get his hands on...because they did not have proper winter gear,..especially in the beginning... He always said something along the lines of "Die Kälte war schlimmer als der Russe selbst"

so i would say the weather did a rather great impact on the Campaign
