A few years ago at an old bookstore in Cape Cod I found an American history book titled Much in Little by C. Fletcher. It's brief, but also contains a "Miscellaneous Department" which contains "historical items, interesting and useful". The book was printed by Hollis and Gunn in 1857 in Boston. There's a name on the inside cover written in very old fashioned (or at least old fashioned looking) cursive. Is this worth anything, or is it just a common antique?
This might be better asked elsewhere; I'm pretty sure there's a book collecting sub. However, it's an interesting find! I'm curious about what the book is like -- how do they handle things like northern and southern regional differences, the development of the Supreme Court, the bank... Is any of it mentioned?
It didn't look valuable to me, but recent reprints are on offer for tens of dollars, an 1847 edition for $50: beware though, an asking price needn't bear any relation to a selling price, and those on offer are by definition the ones that haven't yet been bought at the price that's asked.
