Given that you are a sophomore, there is probably still time to sign up for a program that will give you your teaching license as you earn your degree. You should definitely look into that if you are sure you want to teach history to high schoolers/middle schoolers. Depending on what programs are available in your area, you might even receive some funding in exchange for a guarantee that you will teach in your state.

Edit: And your overall plans sound very reasonable. While I pursued my Master's, I knew lots of teachers who attended night classes in pursuit of their Master's in Education with a focus in History. Once you have a year under your belt as a high school teacher, you could make that leap rather easily. I would highly suggest that you plan on dedicating your first year teaching entirely to the profession, as you will end up doing that regardless.
