I recently got interested in John Dee, and that made me want to know more about the history of Renaissance esotericism (witchcraft, alchemy, ...) ... As I don't know the field at all, save from some names, I don't know if my question is specific enough ... If it is not, I will do my best to give additional informations about what I want exactly.

We deal with that a LOT on The History of Alchemy Podcast Not just alchemy, but also related fields that came back in a big way in the renaissance: magic, astrology, hermeticism, neoplatonism, etc.
You might like the Pico Della Mirandola episode to start with, but I bet you'd really like the John Dee and Edward Kelley (and many others) too.
As far as books, I really liked the Frances Yates' Occult in the Elizabethan Age ...that's a great one to get you started. I have tons more books on just what you're asking, but I'm not at home at the moment.
