After watching the Netflix show "Narcos," I am interested to read an academically endorsed historical perspective on the rise and fall of the Medellin cartel, do any of this historians in this sub have any recommendations?
Killing Pablo by Mark Bowden is the most widely known at least to my knowledge but I'm not sure it could exactly be described as academic. The historians on here could probably point you towards more academic histories but I've generally only heard good things about Bowden's work. It's a starting place if anything.
