Herring's, "America's Longest War," has some good - yet again, American based - details on the effects of bombing (both in Vietnam and Cambodia) upon political and social stability in Cambodia.
you might also give Mark Philip Bradley's "Vietnam at War," a shot. even if it doesn't specifically speak to your question, it's a good conceptual guide and great for mining sources on non-Western interpretations of Vietnam.
