I found this grave marker which says that Travis, Crockett, and Bowie were exhumed and displayed from 1936 to 1938. Why did that happen? What kind of audience was there? What sort of reaction was there to their bodies?

I'll try to look into it more when I'm home but my recollection was that the bodies were burned after the Alamo fell and that the location of the remains was disputed.
Is this at the cathedral?
