My girlfriend's grandfather was a member of the underground resistance in the second world war. She has a hat that used to belong to him and she is wondering if it has any meaning to it. I've uploaded some pictures here. Edit: Most logical; some location information:
It would help to know what country he was a resister in. I'm assuming France but there were a lot of resistance movements even if many of them were tiny.
A shot in the dark, but "Bravo" may be the name of his ship? Was the operation of the freighter in anyway related to his resistance activities?
On a historical note; Garrison/Side caps like that, and other pseduo-militaristic stuff were always quite popular with Partisans and Resistance members. You see them being worn a lot, along with captured German equipment or remnants of the original military's equipment in period photos. It may be no more complicated than that, but it does leave me scratching my head over the "Bravo" inscription.
