Are there any books you would recommend on the American political realignments in the 1960s (after the New Deal fell apart) forward?

Sucks that this got downvoted :-( I'm guessing people see "New Deal" and think "1930s" maybe?

There's actually a ton of scholarship that you could look at here. But some of the most recent and best options to start with are Jefferson Cowie's book Stayin Alive: The 1970s and the Last Days of the Working Class, Matt Lassiter's The Silent Majority, and Robert Self's All in the Family: The Realignment of American Democracy Since the 1960s. You might also want to check out Cowie and Salvatore's essay "The Long Exception: Rethinking the Place of the New Deal in American History".
