My dad an I have been digging up a suspicious bit of concrete in one of our outbuildings and we came across this weird item underneath it and would love to know what it is.

The building is located in Cornwall , UK

The outbuilding is about 10m from a river

All the metal looks well made and made to last as well as the wood is thick but rotting away

It is about 1.5m wide and 1m high, if in fact its the right way up our best guess was something to either do with old mining/ gold panning, or some sort of water pump from a well.

We will soon be digging around it more and eventually get it all up for anyone else who is curious. Thanks for your time. This is my first post so please excuse any formatting issues.
