Did the revolts during the decolonialization differ in Africa compared to Asian?

by liloundstitch

Did the revolts in Africa and Asia against the former colonial powers after the WWII differ from eachother? What underlying causes caused the characteristic differences in the rebellions?

My thesis is that the revolts in Asia were less violent, mostly due to religion, Gandhi-movement etc (although the Vietnam war contradicts this thesis). But I'm searching for more factors.
