I listened to this and I came away thinking that based on the information available to them at the time the french made the right call. Had I been civilian leadership I don't think I would have had any reason to question it.
How have I missed this podcast for so long? Excellent episode, the cost of the Maginot line really surprised me. The way some people talk about it, the French ruined their armed forces to afford it. Yet, not so.
Good pod as ever, very interesting companion to the one on the Battle of France.
