Evening all; looking for some advice on where to look for the heraldry of Richard de Camville, buddy of Richard Lionheart who fought in the First Crusade, owned land in Cyprus and was KIA at Acre.
Given he's a little obscure I'm not looking for a 100% super-accurate answer, but anything sort of close would be superb. :)

Its quite possible that he didn't have any. Richard I only introduced royal arms for himself in 1198, several years after de Camville's death. While (non inheritable) coats of arms to identify a person on the battlefield had been in use before, for instance on the Bayeux tapestry, the heraldic system certainly had not been codified. I also dug a little, looking at the churches near manors that he owned etc. All the manors on his lands are no longer there and the Churches are all later constructions. As far as I can tell he had no time to initiate building projects on Cyprus during his short stint as governor to which he might affix his arms. It is therefore possible that he did have a coat of arms, but that it was never recorded.
