The term "Columbian Exchange" is used to refer to the entire commercial intercourse and transfer of plants, animals, and diseases from the Europe, Asia, and Africa to the Americas and vice versa. As such it involved much of North and South America and the Caribbean on the one side. Sunflowers and turkeys come from North America. Maize and cacao come from Central America. Tomatoes and potatoes come from South America. Pineapples, peppers, and vanilla come from the Caribbean. A variety of fruits, grains, and livestock came to the Americas from Europe. Sugarcane, citrus fruit, and a variety of spices came from Asia. Bananas and coffee came from Africa.

Maine clover honey is part of the Columbian exchange. As is a Wisconsin dairy. Columbian coffee is as well. Irish potatoes are also part of the exchange. As is Swiss chocolate, Italian marinara sauce, Thai peanut sauce, Argentinian wine, and so on and so forth.

The Columbian Exchange didn't really have a place so much as it took place everywhere.
