hello i wasnt really succesfull with this question at r/history so i will ask here again i need some good literature tips which will give me a good overview about the topics of the Ostsiedlung(not the one of the Nazis),the culture of the elbslavs/wends and the relation between the germans and the elbslavs the books could should be in german or english, i prefer german but english will also work fine thank you
The standard starter reference is probably Robert Bartlett, The Making of Europe. Unfortunately I don't think it's been translated into German. You will almost certainly find some German in his bibliography, though!
Lisa Wolverton and Jan Piskowski are two other important scholars who have discussed this topic, also in English.
I don't have any specific resources for the Ostsiedlung off-hand, but let me know if you're interested in the Wendish migration to the United States in the mid-19th century and I can help with that.
