Found this journal while looking at old albums at my grandmother's, several letters / poems dating all the way back to 1885, most signed from Grahamsville Florida / Fellowship Florida. The quality of the journal for the time is incredible, the woman on it is embossed and everything has texture to it. It also has a word on the front right and is not very legible.

Anyone have any idea where this could have originated from? I found it today and am very interested in finding out more about it.
Cool find! Do these images appear to be engraved? If it's an engraved plate image the front ink will feel raised/textured if you run your fingertips over it, and if you flip it over the reverse side will appear to be pressed in.
The word on the cover is ALBUM. Scrapbooking was a major trend in America in the late 19th century, this appears to be a commerical scrapbook album, you would buy it and then write in it, glue things in it like photographs and newspaper clippings, that sort of thing. Mark Twain even got in on the fashion.
