So in my first post here, I asked for sources about the fall of Rome, but my professor denied my request to do a historiography on the fall of Rome since it is just a mere 50 years or so before what our class covers in world history. So I asked him if I could write about how the UK of Great Britain and Ireland got its name. I'm having a difficult time refunding my original sources that I found while drunkenly researching one night and now I'm stuck.

So I'm asking anybody out there, could you please assist me in finding sources on the formation of the UK and what led to that, such as the English empire conquering lands or what not (I can't remember exactly what I read in my drunken stupor). I appreciate any help or sources you provide.
